The Mexican Chamber of Deputies is moving forward with a proposal to ban vapes and electronic cigarettes, having completed the publicity declaration for the Health Commission's opinion. This document outlines reforms to the General Health Law aimed at regulating the prohibition of these devices and strengthening public health care.
According to agreements by the Political Coordination Board, the matter is scheduled for discussion in the ordinary session on Wednesday, December 3rd. The proposal includes amendments to add, reform, and repeal various provisions regarding electronic cigarettes, vapes, and similar devices. It also addresses adjustments related to the consolidated purchase of medicines.
Ricardo Monreal, coordinator of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) and president of the Political Coordination Board, highlighted these agenda items on social media prior to the plenary session. The legislative move signifies a significant step towards enforcing stricter controls on vaping products in Mexico.
